Naandhi Movie Review: When We As A Society Lose

Mehak Sep 10 . 6 min read

Vijay Kanakamedala, a first-time director, wants us to halt and pay attention to a made-up narrative that was influenced by a number of actual events. What transpires when a person is wrongfully charged with murder and pushed to the limit by police brutality? This reminds me of the Tamil movie Visaranai, but more importantly, of newsworthy real-life instances of police violence.

Nandhi movie plot-

Surya Prakash is from a middle-class household, and his parents have struggled financially to give him the education he deserves. He wants to make sure that his parents appreciate the little things in life that they had to forego in order to raise him. He is now a software engineer. A new home and marriage are two of the main ambitions. When he is unexpectedly apprehended by police on suspicion of killing lawyer Raja Gopal for doing good, his world is turned upside down.

With all the odds stacked against him, Surya Prakash manages to cling to some hope in Naandhi as he is gradually destroyed by police officer Kishore.

Nandi movie review-

Vijay progressively reveals the events, first making his audience understand the situation of the accused. After Naandhi Telugu movie review, it can be surely said that the director also seems to be aware of when to avoid using dialogue. Naresh is silent for a substantial amount of the opening scenes. He is taken to jail, instructed to strip, and then left to rot behind bars; his lack of speech contrasts with the chattiness of the other prisoner who is a YouTuber. It helps that Priyadarshi can lighten things up without making a problem seem insignificant, whereas Naresh can internalize all the suffering and portray it through his eyes and body language.

By adding in the Naandhi movie review it can also be said that Vijay manages his cards carefully and avoids generalizing about the entire police force. No generalizations are drawn instead, Naandhi focuses on the confrontation between the victim and one bad cop.

Nandi movie rating-

After Naandhi review it is found that the movie had an 8/10 IMDb rating with 4.3K votes. The movie made 6.4 crores in its first week of release. After over 8 years, it is Naresh's first financially successful movie with box office receipts of nearly 9.5 crores

Naandhi goes beyond the struggle for the release of those who have been falsely accused; it is only half the war won. Later, when Section 211 is involved, the real conflict starts. As the lawyer Aadya, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar portrays her with conviction and credibility. The movie benefits from a strong supporting cast.

In our nation, police brutality is a problem that isn't taken seriously, especially since Tollywood frequently romanticizes the idea of encounters and extrajudicial killings. Naandhi takes the opposing tack and illustrates what we as a nation lose when the government punishes innocent people. The cast and crew of the movie deserve praise for tackling a topic that isn't often tackled in the movie business.

Nandi movie conclusion-

Excellent writing is necessary for a movie of this caliber, and Vijay is a master at it. He recounts a tale that goes beyond the conventional themes of a mistreated man receiving bail and pursuing retribution. Additionally, the audience learns about IPC 211, a lesser-known provision of the Indian Penal Code. The director also goes a step further by reminding viewers that the legal and judicial systems are in place to help victims receive justice, not to accuse more innocent people. Aadhya and Surya's character hardness and intent are both expertly realized.

The problem with Naandhi is that it gives the legislative, executive, judicial, and fourth estate a sharp slap in the face. The audience, who frequently cheers and whistles while non-judicial punishments are meted out both on and off-screen, is where the slaps hit hardest, though. Naandhi is therefore unquestionably worth watching.
