Dangal


 Dangal movie is based on the real-life story of the Phogat family. He trained his two daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari to become India’s first world-class female wrestler. 

Dangal is counted as the best hindi sports movie, the former wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat was unable to fulfill his dream of winning the gold medal for his country because he was forced to become a father and acquire enough finance to support his family. So he decided that his unborn son will fulfill it but he gave up his hopes when his wife gave birth to four daughters. But one day the entire story changed when Geeta and Babita comes home after beating up two boys who were passing disrespectful comments. Then he realizes their potential and decided to train them. His two daughters faced a lot of struggle while towards glory at the Commonwealth Games in the face of societal maltreatment.


 

Chak De! India

 

Kabir Khan is a former hockey player who is tainted as someone who betrayed his own country so to prove his loyalty towards the country he decided to train the Indian women’s national hockey team. Chak De! is another masterpiece and is considered one of the best hindi sports movies.


 

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag

 

Another movie based on real life. Milkha Singh also known as Flying Sikh is the only athlete who wins gold at 400 meters at the Asian Games and Commonwealth Games.

The gold movie shows the journey of a man named Tapan Das, a manager of Gold winning Indian hockey team during the British ruler. He dreams of bringing gold for his country during the post-Independence time. Tapan heard the news of the 1948 Olympics and started preparing his team.
