The show is an Indian political drama released in 2019 on Hotstar under their Hotstar Specials label which has been famous to produce quality content in the past like Aarya. The show’s idea and its story both are the joint creations of Nagesh Kukunoor & Rohit Banawlikar. Apart from that Kukunoor has also directed the series and its cast includes veterans of acting like Sachin Pilgaonkar, Atul Kulkarni, Sushant Singh etc. it also stars promising young talents like Priya Bapat & Siddharth Chandekar.

As of now city of dreams has completed 2 seasons on air with a total of 20 episodes, with 10 episodes per season. The episodes are of decent lengths between 38-54 minutes which keeps you hooked to the story.

Season 1 begins with an attempt on the life of the head of the Gaikwad family, Amey Gaikwad aka Saheb played by Atul Kulkarni. But the attempt is in vain and he survives, leaving all sorts of questions about this incident. As the story progresses we see the various ugly realities of life filled with power and lust for power. A lot of sinister plots are revealed and a lot of innocent faces show their truly dark side towards the end of season 1. That is the best way I can put it without spoiling anything for you. Expect a great time while watching this maiden season of city of dreams.

Season 2 does not disappoint at all too and picks up the story where we left it in the first season quite well.
