 Better Call Saul is an American crime drama series created by Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould. It is a spinoff prequel of Gilligan’s earlier series, Breaking Bad. Set in between the early to mid-2000s in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the series develops Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) also known as Saul Goodman, and later is known as Gene Takavic is a low-paid lawyer. He was struggling financially and lives in the back room of a nail salon. Later he transforms into a greedy criminal defense lawyer and enters into the criminal underworld. The retired police officer Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks), who lost his all morality and become closely associated with the Juarez drug cartel to support his granddaughter and widowed mother. Jimmy and mike’s interaction remain on and off until their prospective storylines are fully described. The series first premiered on AMC on February 8, 2015, airing five seasons’ ten episodes per season so far till date. The drama has a total of 50 episodes and per episode is 40-60 minutes. This crime drama didn’t immediately catch fire like Breaking bad but slowly they get an amazing response from both audiences and critics. The show is known for some of its incredible scenes of crime, tragedy, humor, drama, thrill, and suspense. The series premiere held the record of the highest-rated scripted series premiere in basic cable history when the show first aired. The show will not only explain Kim Wexler’s story but also show what happens in Saul Goodman’s life, the Goodman jimmy McGill that the audience first saw in Breaking Bad. 

The audience loved how the series stays tied up to the Breaking Bad universe, not affecting the original series much. Others also confessed that this show even suppress the mastery of the previous series. All the fans are waiting to see Kim’s fate and they can observe what is going to occur to jimmy in the final episode.

Co-creator Peter Gould and Vince Gilligan have spent five years carefully create all the complex characters, now the main characters like Jimmy, Kim, and the drug Kingpins of new Mexico will reach their climax in season 6. We all already have some hints that who will survive in the end. As we all know that in Breaking bad Jimmy ‘Saul Goodman’ is especially confirmed that he is safe but on the other side there are many characters that are ripe for the chop.

Will There Be a Season 6 of Better Call Saul?

 

Given the critical acclaim and awards attention the show has generated, it is obvious that there is going to be season 6. This show has garnered many nominations, including a Peabody Award, eleven Writers Guild of American Awards, 21 Primetime Emmy Awards, four Screen Actors Guild Awards, four Golden Globe Awards, and five Critics’ Choice Television Awards. The showrunner Peter Gould mentioned in a statement that “We couldn’t be more grateful to the fans and critics who are making this journey possible” so it’s a yes that there will be a season 6 of Better call Saul. They started filming for season 6 in February 2020 but the pandemic covid 19 hampered the production of the show. After some time when the situation becomes a little bit stable, they again started filming in March 2021. But on July 27, TMZ reported that the main cast Odenkirk collapsed on the set while filming because of a sudden heart attack and was taken to the hospital. After hearing the news, everyone show’s a tidal wave of love for Odenkirk. In response, he shares the following statement: “Hi. It’s Bob. Thank you. To my family and friends who have surrounded me this week. And for the outpouring of love from everyone who expressed concern and cares for me. It's overwhelming. But I feel the love and it means so much."I had a small heart attack. But I'm going to be OK, thanks to Rosa Estrada and the doctors who knew how to fix the blockage without surgery... I'm going to take a beat to recover but I'll be back soon." The Executive Producer Thomas Schnuaz told Den of Geek that production is "moving forward, steady but slow" because of the Odenkirk heart attack, adding: "We're filming scenes that don't involve Bob right now." The actor has thankfully recovered and the filming has resumed but the show will air a little bit late than the expected time.

 

Better Call Saul Season 6 Cast

 

The star cast Bob Odenkirk will be back and will play the role of Jimmy McGill/ Saul Goodman / Gene Takavic, other main casts will be Rhea Seehorm play the role of Kim Wexler, Jonathan Banks will be back also as Mike Ehrmantraut, Giancarlo Esposito as Gus Fring, Patrick Fabian as Howard Hamlin, Michael Mando as Nacho Varga, and Tony Dalton as Lalo Salamanca will also be back in this season. Some other characters like dean Norris's DEA agent Hank Schrader and his partner Steve Gomez (Steven Michal Quezada) come out in season 5 and in breaking Bad many other high and low impact characters (examples- Tuco, Huell, Gale, Krazy-8) has weaved in the show, so you can expect that there is going to be some more characters in the final season of Better Call Saul. Fans want to see Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paulas Walter White and Jesse Pinkman in the last episode however it’s unlikely to happen.

 

Better Call Saul season 6 episodes

 

Season 6 of Better Call Saul consists of 13 episodes in total. On March 10, 2021, Peter Gould posted a photo of Better Call Saul season 6 Episode 1 on tweeter and wrote “And away we go!" and later Odenkirk also tweeted a photo of him and his other members of Better Call Saul getting the covid vaccine together. The trailer of season 6 is out on 20th July 2021.

 

 The last season means the fifth one develops on the characters of Jimmy and Kim and the story will become more intense in season six. Jimmy Saul Goodman enters into a vortex of drug commerce within the prison underworld of Albuquerque and the story becomes more and more tangled and complicated. The story takes another wild twist when Jimmy Saul Goodman will get caught up in a bitter clash between the networked Salamanca household and enterprising drug vendor Gus Firing.

 

  In the final season, we will see that the pair Jimmy and Kim are hiding in a downtown resort in a try and avoid Lalo Salamanca. On the Other part, Mike makes preparations for the assassination of Lalo Salamance, however, Lalo escaped successfully and unscathed. In this season we will be able to notice that Kim herself balance her feeling for Jim and also she continues to be committed to her professional Bono work. In the remaining moments, Jimmy and Kim are seen to be left conversing on the mattress as a cloud of uncertainty roams over their head.

 

 In the last season of Better Call Saul, we might even see Lalo Salamanca coming back for taking his revenge and Jimmy might give it worth. Whereas we all have seen Jimmy’s face when he enters the lifetime of Walter white, we have no idea what happens to Kim, and in a gray world fully ruin by blood, we are not too hopeful about Kim's future. This show always had a fixed destination and tragic structure to develop, unlike the other Television shows. In an interview of Gould with a Hollywood reporter, Peter Gould said that he wants to make a satisfactory ending of the Better Call Saul show so he invited the creator of Breaking Bad to the writing room “for a good chunk of the season […] so we can finish this show that we started together. He also said, “I think by the time you finish watching Better Call Saul, you’re going to see Breaking Bad in a very different light”. 

 

In the final season, we all are going to know more about the characters in Breaking Bad that we didn’t know. We are going to know about the fates of a lot of the characters here in the show that may surprise the fans or can throw them into a different light, so be prepared to see more thrilling and minding revelations within the finality of the McGill saga.
